It’s about community. It’s about where you’re from, and where you’re going. It’s about people who aren’t content to shrug shoulders and wish that things were better. It’s about people who are trying to build the community they want to see.

Talking Northeast aims to celebrate independence, innovation, sustainability. We want to tell the stories of local businesses, to promote the projects that shape and inspire our communities, to encourage a love of what’s local to us.

The scope is vast: from big city to beautiful countryside, small business to big ideas, creative crafts to connecting communities.

Week by week, these are the stories we want to tell – in the words of the people making them happen.

Get involved

Got a story? Get in touch. Many of our features start from places we know and love, but there is always room to discover something new. If you’re involved with a group, a project or a business based in northeast England, tell us about it. If it fits, we can set up an interview at a convenient time and prepare a feature about your project. All text is made available before publication to help catch any errors.

This is not a paywall. If a paid subscription is not right for you, our articles will remain available. Taking a free subscription will ensure that you don’t miss out and will help to build an audience for this blog and the community organisations and businesses we are looking to promote.
